Peshawaris
The Peshawari is a flat, open-toed sandal with a distinctive woven leather upper — originating in the North-West Frontier region and worn across South Asia for both everyday and ceremonial occasions.
At Morda Milano+, our Peshawaris are handcrafted from premium leather with a focus on the quality of the weave and the durability of the construction. They pair beautifully with kurtas, sherwanis, and dhoti sets for festive and wedding occasions.
Mojaris
The Mojari is a pointed-toe slip-on shoe with roots in Rajasthani and Punjabi craft traditions. Traditionally made with heavily embroidered or embellished uppers, the Mojri is the quintessential groom's shoe at Indian weddings — and with good reason.
Our Mojaris are available in both traditional embroidered styles and cleaner, more contemporary leather interpretations — so whether you want something classic for a Rajasthani wedding or a modernised Mojari for a fusion occasion, we build it to your specification.

Peshawaris are appropriate for a wide range of occasions — from everyday casual wear at home to semi-formal festive occasions, religious gatherings, and relaxed wedding events. They are not appropriate for formal settings where a closed shoe is expected, but within their natural context they are one of the most versatile traditional footwear options available.
Peshawaris are ideal for summer — the open-toe construction allows airflow and keeps the foot cool in warm weather. For the monsoon, leather Peshawris require some care — apply a leather conditioner before the season and allow to dry naturally after any wet wear. Avoid prolonged soaking.
Both are traditional Indian open-toed sandals with leather uppers, but they originate from different regions and have distinct construction styles. The Peshawari originates from the North-West Frontier region and typically features a woven or multi-strap upper across the toe and instep. The Kolhapuri originates from Maharashtra and Karnataka and features a wider, flatter toe strap system with different construction techniques. Both are available in our traditional range
Yes. All Morda Milano+ Peshawaris are made to order, which means we build for wide, narrow, flat, and large feet. The open construction of the Peshawri makes it naturally more accommodating than a closed shoe, but a made-to-order pair is still significantly better fitted than a standard-sized one — particularly around the heel strap and instep.
Natural tan, rich brown, dark brown, and black are the most traditional and widely worn options. Since all our Peshawaris are made to order, other leather colours and finishes are also available on request. For festive or wedding occasions, gold-toned leather or metallic finishes are also possible.
Wipe clean with a soft dry cloth after each wear. Apply a leather conditioner every few weeks to keep the leather supple — particularly important for woven uppers where the leather strips are thin and can dry out. Store in a cool, dry place in the dust bag provided, away from direct sunlight.
