For the most accurate results, measure your feet in the evening, when they are naturally at their largest.
Step 1
Place a blank sheet of paper flat against a wall.
Step 2
Stand on the paper with your heel lightly touching the wall.
Step 3
Mark the tip of your longest toe.
Step 4
Measure the distance from the wall to the mark.
Step 5
Repeat for both feet and use the longer measurement.
Measuring Width, Ball Girth & Structure (Recommended)
Step 1
Wrap a measuring tape around the widest part of your foot (this is both your width reference and ball girth measurement).
Step 2
Ensure the tape follows the natural contour across the ball of your foot β from the joint of your big toe to the little toe.
Step 3
Keep the tape snug, but not tight, and note the measurement in centimetres.
Step 4
If possible, take this measurement while standing to capture natural foot spread.
This helps us understand:
- Overall width
- Ball girth proportion
- pressure distribution across the foot
β all essential for achieving a truly tailored fit.

A More Personal Fit
Your measurements are only the beginning.
Each pair is further refined through:
- material selection
- construction method
- wear adaptation over time
The result is footwear that not only fits well initially, but continues to improve with wear.
Crafted Around You
Finding the right fit is the foundation of a well-made shoe.
At Morda Milano, every pair is designed around your individual measurements, ensuring comfort, balance, and precision from the very first step.
Below is a guide to help you understand sizing and measure your feet accurately for our made-to-measurement and bespoke footwear.
Understanding Fit at Morda Milano
Unlike standard footwear, our shoes are not limited to fixed sizes.
Each pair is developed based on:
- Foot length
- Foot width
- Ball girth (the circumference around the widest part of your foot)
- Instep and overall structure
This allows us to create footwear that adapts naturally to your feet, rather than requiring you to adjust to the shoe.
Width & Structure
Every foot is unique in width and shape.
At Morda Milano:
- Standard fit is based on a balanced medium width
-
Adjustments are made for:
- wider feet
- narrower profiles
- higher or lower insteps
- variations in ball girth
Your measurements allow us to refine these details for a more precise and balanced fit.
